Support Scalp Health with MICRONEEDLING
Take a step towards restoring hair vitality & volume
Many people experience thinning hair, receding hairlines, or reduced hair density and look for effective, minimally invasive treatments to support hair growth. At Brisbane Robotic Hair Transplant, we offer microneedling for the scalp to help stimulate your hair follicles and create optimal conditions for healthier, stronger hair.
Scalp microneedling works by promoting blood flow and activating the scalp’s natural regenerative processes, supporting follicle health and encouraging new hair growth. When combined with treatments such as PRP therapy or incorporated into a comprehensive hair wellness plan, it becomes a valuable step towards thicker, fuller, and healthier-looking hair.
How Microneedling Works
Microneedling uses fine, medical-grade needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the scalp’s surface. These tiny channels trigger the body’s natural healing response stimulating collagen production, improving blood circulation, and encouraging the regeneration of healthy tissue around the hair follicles.
This process helps to revitalise dormant or weakened follicles, creating a more supportive environment for hair growth. Increased blood flow delivers essential oxygen and nutrients to the scalp, while the microchannels also enhance the absorption of topical serums or growth factors applied during or after treatment.
When performed as part of a comprehensive hair restoration plan, microneedling can significantly improve scalp health, strengthen existing hair, and help promote new growth over time.
Am I a Good Candidate for Scalp Microneedling?
Scalp microneedling is suitable for many people experiencing early signs of hair thinning, patchy hair loss, or overall reduced hair density. It’s an ideal option for those looking to stimulate natural growth and improve scalp health without surgery or significant downtime.
You may be a good candidate if you:
- Have mild to moderate hair thinning or diffuse hair loss
- Want to strengthen existing hair and improve density
- Are seeking to enhance the results of PRP or other hair restoration treatments
Microneedling may not be recommended if you have active scalp infections, open wounds, eczema, psoriasis, or certain medical conditions affecting healing.
Your clinician will perform a thorough assessment during your consultation to determine if scalp microneedling (alone or combined with PRP or laser therapy) is the right approach for you.
Benefits of Scalp Microneedling
For HAir Loss
Scalp microneedling offers a range of benefits for those experiencing thinning hair or early-stage hair loss. When performed by trained professionals, it’s a safe, minimally invasive treatment that helps improve both scalp health and hair quality.
- Stimulates hair growth: Encourages the activation of dormant follicles and supports new hair growth.
- Improves scalp circulation: Enhances blood flow to deliver oxygen and nutrients essential for healthy follicles.
- Strengthens existing hair: Helps improve the structure and resilience of existing strands over time.
- Boosts treatment results: Increases the absorption and effectiveness of topical products such as PRP or growth serums.
- Supports overall scalp health: Promotes collagen production and helps maintain a balanced, revitalised scalp environment.
- Minimal downtime: Most patients experience only mild redness or tenderness that settles within 24–48 hours.
When included in a tailored hair restoration plan, scalp microneedling can be an important step toward achieving stronger, and healthier-looking hair.
Scalp Microneedling Process for Hair Loss
Consultation
Your journey begins with a personalised consultation at Brisbane Robotic Hair Transplant. During this appointment, your clinician will assess your scalp health, hair density, and overall goals. Together, you’ll discuss your treatment options and whether microneedling is best suited to your needs.
Treatment
During your microneedling session, a specialised medical device equipped with fine needles is used to create controlled micro-channels across the scalp. This process stimulates circulation and activates your body’s natural repair response to support follicle health and new growth. You may feel a light prickling or tingling sensation, and a topical numbing cream can be applied for comfort. The procedure typically takes 30–60 minutes.
Aftercare
Following treatment, your scalp may appear slightly red or feel tender for 24–48 hours, similar to mild sunburn. You’ll be advised to avoid washing your hair or applying products for the first 24 hours, protect your scalp from direct sun exposure, and follow gentle care instructions to support healing.
Results
Results develop gradually as your scalp regenerates and follicles are revitalised. Most patients begin to notice improved hair texture, strength, and density after several sessions. When maintained with regular sessions and a healthy scalp routine, results can continue to improve over time.
If you’re ready to take action against hair thinning and restore confidence in your appearance, book a consultation with our experienced team today. We’ll help you create a tailored plan to support stronger, fuller, and healthier hair.
Possible Risks or Side Effects
Microneedling is generally well-tolerated; however, some potential risks or side effects include:
- Temporary redness or swelling of the treatment area
- Pinpoint bleeding can appear, but typically heals quickly
- Mild scalp sensitivity or tenderness for 24-48 hours
- Mild skin irritation or dryness as the scalp heals
- Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in rare cases
A consultation with a dermal clinician is important to assess suitability and minimise risks.

Frequently Asked Questions ABout
Scalp Microneedling for hair loss
How does scalp microneedling help with hair loss?
Microneedling works by creating controlled micro-injuries in the scalp, which stimulate the body’s natural healing response. This process supports collagen production, improves circulation, and helps revitalise hair follicles, encouraging stronger, healthier hair growth over time. Book a consultation to see whether scalp microneedling could support your hair goals.
How many sessions of scalp microneedling will I need?
For most patients, a course of 3–6 sessions spaced a few weeks apart is recommended to achieve noticeable improvement. Your clinician will create a tailored treatment plan based on your scalp condition, hair density, and overall goals.
Is scalp microneedling painful?
Discomfort is usually minimal. A topical numbing cream can be applied before treatment to ensure comfort throughout the procedure. You may feel a light prickling or tingling sensation as the device moves across the scalp.
Can microneedling be combined with other hair loss treatments?
Yes. Scalp microneedling is often combined with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy or laser treatments to enhance follicle stimulation and overall results. Your clinician will recommend the most suitable combination for your individual needs.
When will I see results from microneedling for hair loss?
Results appear gradually as the scalp regenerates and follicles respond to treatment. Many patients begin to notice improved texture, density, and strength within a few months, with continued improvement over time as part of a consistent treatment plan. Book a personalised consultation at Brisbane Robotic Hair Transplant to discuss scalp microneedling and other medically-led treatments that can support your hair health and confidence.
